The Thessaloniki International Film Festival is pleased to launch collaboration with the 47th International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), hosting the IFFR Live event for the first time in Thessaloniki, Greece, from Friday 26 January to Sunday 28 January, 2018, at TIFF’s Stavros Tornes theatre (Warehouse 1, Thessaloniki Port).
Thanks to this partnership, the audience of Thessaloniki will have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the 47th IFFR and enjoy 5 fascinating films from the event’s official program that will be screened live, simultaneously both in Thessaloniki and Rotterdam. In addition, the spectators will be able to participate in Q&As with the film’s cast and crew that will follow each screening, sending their questions via Twitter and Facebook (hashtag: #livecinema), as well as via WhatsApp.

The films
The selected films are some of the latest most compelling independent cinema offerings by promising women filmmakers from all over the world. Women take center stage in these films, which unfold the stories of fragile yet powerful heroines who struggle to make a new start in their lives and find their place in the world.

* The fourth edition of IFFR Live takes place during the 47th IFFR (24/1 - 4/2/2018) and is presented in more than 40 cinemas of 17 countries, in various cities, including Thessaloniki.
