A suitcase full of Cinema, the CineValise kicks off its journey from the Thessaloniki Cinema Museum, heading to elementary schools all over Greece, inviting children and teachers to grasp the history and the magic of cinema, through fun-filled activities and creative games.

The Thessaloniki Film Festival participates in the design and implementation of the educational platform "nextus", which is carried out within the framework of the MEDIA "CREATIVE EUROPE PROGRAMME - MEDIA SUB-PROGRAMME SUPPORT TO FILM EDUCATION", in collaboration with the partners: PLAN SLU (SPAIN), DOK. This program has been in effect since 2001 and all screenings are held in the “Olympion” building, which is the base of T.I.F.F. in Thessaloniki. It involves films officially approved by the Ministry of Education for grade school, junior high and high school students. The films are selected by our department based on the age range of the audience and the suitability of the content, as well as their artistic qualities.

Masterclasses

The Thessaloniki International Film Festival starting from the 44th annual film festival in November 2003, designed and ran a program of masterclasses and open discussions. The aim of these programs is to promote contact between film students and young film professionals and world acclaimed personalities of the industry (directors, scriptwriters, actors, directors of photography, producers, distributors, market people, as well professionals in advanced technological developments of media forms).
