10TH CROSSROADS CO-PRODUCTION FORUM CALL FOR ENTRIES
November 5-8, 2014
APPLICATION DEADLINE: JULY 31, 2014
CROSSROADS Co-production Forum turns 10 this year and announces its Call for Entries for its next event that will take place during the 55th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in November 2014.
CROSSROADS’ goal is to support the producers of feature-length fiction film projects that originate from and/or deal with the Mediterranean, Central and South-eastern Europe regions. Qualifying features should be produced or co-produced by a country in this area or contain story elements from the aforementioned regions. Mediterranean and European producers with a feature film script are given the chance to encounter a new network of financiers, co-producers and leading industry specialists. The programme is varied and provides the opportunity to meet, formally and informally, distributors, broadcasters, sales agents and consultants.
Countries that are eligible to submit are: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, FYROM, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey.
In its previous editions, CROSSROADS included projects by filmmakers such as Annemarie Jacir, Amos Gitai, Yesim Ustaoglu, Athina Rachel Tsangari, Yannis Economides, Florin Serban, Mohamed Khan, Michel Kammoun, Dover Kosashvili, Radu Jude, Zeki Demirkubuz, and Peter Brosens & Jessica Woodworth among others.
Invited industry experts include producers, distributors, sales agents, film fund & festival representatives, organisations and institutions from all over the world.
Each year the Crossroads Jury gives an award to the best Crossroads film project:
a co-production award with the Two Thirty Five company, providing complete image & sound post-production services. The producer of the winning project is also granted a Producer’s Network accreditation for the 2015 Cannes IFF.
A second prize will be awarded by the Centre national du cinema et de l'image animee (CNC), worth 7.000 euro cash.
Sofia Meetings will select a project that will participate in their next session in March 2015 and the MFI (Mediterranean Film Institute) is offering a scholarship to its Script 2 Film Workshop for one of the projects. Also, Initiative Film is offering development consultation to a Greek project of its choice.
