The Agora Docs of the 24th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, one of the first film markets in the world that was organized digitally when the pandemic broke out, announced its awards. Using all available tools and new technologies, Agora Docs presented new actions and supported successful initiatives in a hybrid event that took place in physical spaces in Thessaloniki and online.

The talk "Channels in the cloud… A revolution and new business opportunities”, a presentation of the online VoD platforms (CINOBO, Nok Ze Dok), was carried out on Wednesday, March 16th, in Warehouse C at the Port, as part of the Agora Talks of the 24th TDF’s Agora. Yianna Sarri, Head of Agora, welcomed the audience and introduced the two speakers, Daphne Bechtsi of Cinobo and Guy Knafo, of Nok Ze Dok.

As part of the Agora of the 24th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, the event “Kickstarter for Documentary Film” was carried out on Wednesday, March 16th, in Warehouse C, at the Thessaloniki Port. The event aimed at informing the audience about the potential and the best practices of funding a documentary by creating a crowdfunding campaign on the popular Kickstarter platform. The main speaker, was the Head of Film, Publications and Arts of Kickstarter in Europe, Evita Tsokanta.

As part of the 24th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, the documentary A House Made of Splinters by Simon Lereng Wilmont was screened on Wednesday March 16th at Olympion, celebreating its international premiere, in the presence of the director.

Agora Lab, the Agora Docs initiative that boosts films that are in the post-production stage, was carried out on Wednesday, March 16th, at the Takis Kanellopoulos hall of the Thessaloniki Film Museum, within the context of the 24th TDF, offering guidance and advice by experts. The candidate projects are Greek and the selection is made via the Docs in Progress submissions of the Greek films. One project will be awarded the Guidance Award by Paradiddle Pictures (Denmark).
