Eight pioneering film creations compete for the Golden Alexander Immersive, accompanied by a 2,00-euro cash prize. The films of the Immersive competition section will be screened at a specially configured venue at Warehouse C (Port of Thessaloniki). The installation Intangible by Danish artist and designer Carl Emil Carlsen will be showcased out of competition at the Guardpost at the entrance of the Port. The working hours for the films and the installation will be from 1pm to 9pm.

The 65th TIFF will host a tribute to the multifarious, subversive and versatile Danish artist Jesper Just, who will attend the Festival to present his work. A total of 18 short films will be screened, including his latest work titled Interfears (2023) starring Matt Dillon,  screened under the form of visual installation at MOMus-Experimental Center for the Arts.

Two myths of world cinema, Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes, will attend the 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, and will be awarded with its honorary Golden Alexander before the screening of the film The English Patient (1996). The two radiant stars will also present the film The Return (2024), where they join forces for the third time in their career.

The Thessaloniki International Film Festival has assigned the spots of its 65th edition to two filmmakers whose creations converse in a unique way with the Festival’s program. The spots “Transformation” and “Vampires” are directed by Nikos Kolioukos, whereas the spot titled “Scared?” was directed by Meni Tsilianidou.
