The Thessaloniki Film Festival and the Greek Film Centre invite filmmakers to submit their projects to the “Thessaloniki Goes to Cannes” event that will take place this July during the Marché du Film of the 74th Festival de Cannes (July 6-16 2021).

Top professionals in the field, producer Delphine Saltel, audio engineer Peter Leonard and Gordon Firemark who has practiced media and entertainment law, talked about the basic principles of the digital archives that have taken over the world, while focusing on their technical characteristics. They, also, shared secrets for their success and efficiency.

The 23^rd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival’s live open discussion took place on Thursday March 11, online. Presenter, actor, entrepreneur Fotis Sergoulopoulos (podcasts LIFO), director Lefteris Charitos (pod.gr) and journalist Daphne Karnezis (The Greek Podcast Project) revealed some of the secrets that make a podcast successfull. Head of programming Yorgos Krassakopoulos coordinated the discussion, while Festival director Orestis Andreadakis referred to the new podcast section of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.

The grant of 5,000 euros, an initiative by Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, is awarded to a documentary project participating in the Doc Station of Berlinale Talents and aims to support upcoming filmmakers, in whom Dimitri Eipides believed.

With a series of initiatives, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival honors Dimitri Eipides, the man who faithfully served the cinematic medium, the founder of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and for many years the director of Thessaloniki Film Festival organization, a visionary who introduced a new kind of cinema and discovered great filmmakers.
