This short monograph on Hirokazu Kore-Eda, starts with a prologue by Dimitris Eipides about Maborosi, the first film of the Japanese filmmaker, with which he was introduced to us in 1995, as part of the program “New Horizons”. Dimitris Eipides mentions: “We rarely see such a rich and complete film debut.” Indeed, it was a film-revelation at the 36th Thessaloniki International Film Festival. The publication continues with the concise text by the editor Dimitris Kerkinos, an exceptionally interesting text by the filmmaker on his first film, interviews and reviews on the four films, which prove that Kore-Eda is already a big chapter of the Japanese cinema.
